Orlando di Lasso – Passio & Mors
Passio & Mors offers an immersion into the spiritual world of Orlando di Lasso through his final work, Lagrime di S. Pietro. In this cycle, the composer musically renders Saint Peter’s repentance following his denial of Christ, using a language of intense rhetorical expressiveness. The interweaving of six Latin motets on the theme of penance creates a dramatic journey that oscillates between meditation, guilt and redemption. The programme evokes a space of intimate devotion, where word and music converge in a profound reflection on human frailty, the awareness of sin and the hope of salvation.
