FREE ENTRANCE
Following the success of his debut album NIO (2022) and his second release Kairo (2024), Momi Maiga has performed over 150 concerts across Europe, including Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Portugal, Bulgaria, Sweden, Latvia and Italy.
Honored with Best Album of the Year at the Enderrock Critics’ Awards 2025, the Altaveu Award 2025, and named Emerging Talent at the Alícia Awards 2024, Kairo confirms Maiga as one of the most distinctive and powerful voices in today’s global music scene.
The album’s title, meaning peace in Mandinka, captures the essence of his music: a masterful fusion of genres and cultures. With a singular style, Maiga addresses urgent contemporary issues, from the enduring impact of colonial legacies that hinder African development, to the fight for universal access to education and the realities of forced migration.
Through the virtuosity of his kora, his captivating voice, and a borderless musical language, Momi Maiga invites audiences on a journey of sound and reflection, where music becomes a powerful tool to build bridges and promote peace.
Recently, Momi was invited by Youssou N’Dour to record and perform on his latest album Éclairer le Monde (Light Up the World). The release was marked by two exceptional concerts, at the legendary Olympia de Paris and Le Rocher de Palmer, where Maiga’s presence on stage and on the record was met with heartfelt appreciation from audiences and the iconic artist himself, who publicly praised him as an ambassador of the new generation.
