The show Álbum de Retratos is a stage adaptation of Gisela Mabel’s eponymous EP (2021), named Jazz Album of the Year by SoloPiano, which focuses on exploring the piano as a narrative and emotional vehicle.
In an intimate setting, the concert creates atmospheres that alternate between tension and serenity, introspection and exploration, transforming the emotional memory of the past into a possibility for future hope. Much like the human experience, marked by the coexistence of multiple directions and inner states, the show embraces diversity as a structural condition of a shared journey — a diversity generated by the contrasts within each piece, which offers different moods, rhythms and emotional perspectives, crystallising into a collective space for listening and connection.
More than a concert, Álbum de Retratos creates a meeting place, where each emotional experience functions as a portrait from the same sensory archive; just as in a photo album, it is in the gathering of these images that the collective narrative is revealed.
