Continuum

At the closing concert of Cistermúsica Fronteiras, the Alcobaça Symphonic Band presents Continuum, a programme that celebrates the enduring bonds between two musicians and the institution responsible for part of the artistic training of these talented young artists.
We will once again be joined by two talented musicians trained at the Alcobaça Music Academy — the percussionists Gaspar Costa and Miguel Traquina — who have now been invited to take to the stage as soloists. A return that shows there are bonds that neither distance nor time can break.
Miguel Traquina’s appearance takes on particular significance following his recent win of first place in the Percussion – Advanced Level category of the 2026 Young Musicians’ Award.
Continuum is, therefore, a convergence of training and journey, past and present — celebrating two musicians who return to the place where they began, to now share the fruits of their journey.

Performers
Rui Carreira, musical director
Miguel Traquina and Gaspar Costa, percussion
