Bach Rearranged: Behind the Scenes and the Processes of (Re)Composition for the album ‘BACH’
FREE ENTRANCE
A contemporary jazz album based on Bach’s works is, to say the least, a daring proposition. With a blend of reverence and audacity, Daniel Bernardes composed the music for the album BACH, performed by the Quodlibet Quintet: Ricardo Toscano, João Barradas, the pianist himself, Demian Cabaud and Joel Silva. As a prelude to the concert on 24 July, this conversation takes us through Daniel Bernardes’ creative process, as he talks to us about collage, poly-temporality and improvisation.
