Pedro Branco is a guitarist from the outskirts with a suburban look, but with a real wanderer’s spirit in his fingers. He started out in the garage, moved on to jazz, and now finds himself in neutral territory, trying to carve out a life between outlaw ballads and lyrics that cut straight to the chase.
Tape Junk is the real-life character of the sort that is João Correia. His albums tell intoxicating tales of made-up cowboys and a life he didn’t ask for, but since here we are, we might as well try something somewhere between the fortuitous and self-proclaimed misery.
Bolero, the album they made together, is a record of stories based on real events, with all the ingredients of a good blockbuster: broken hearts, a poignant scepticism, and a hope intoxicated by the chance nature of our encounters and missed connections. The songs are now available, waiting to be heard, because they have already been lived through too many times.
