Concert to mark the presentation of the 34th Alcobaça Music Festival

The Orquestra das Beiras, in collaboration with the DeCA Symphony Orchestra / University of Aveiro, will perform at Cistermúsica – Alcobaça Music Festival, conducted by Jan Wierzba, in a concert taking place on 9 May at 9.30 pm.
The programme will be entirely dedicated to Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony N.º 5, one of the most striking works in the symphonic repertoire. With its grandiose structure and powerful emotional charge, this symphony spans an expressive arc ranging from the initial solemnity to the triumphant luminosity of the finale, passing through the famous Adagietto, one of the most lyrical and moving moments in the history of music.
Performed by a large orchestra bringing together professionals and music students, the concert promises an intense and immersive musical experience, evoking a moment of reflection thanks to the depth of Mahler’s music.
