Sounds of Light: A sonic stained-glass window of Easter Time proposes a musical experience full of eclecticism that spans different eras, styles, and geographies, unified by the celebration of Easter Time as an expression of the Resurrection, hope, and renewed light. Like a stained-glass window, in which distinct fragments gain full meaning when traversed by light, the program articulates vocal and instrumental works that, together, construct a sonic narrative of joy, contemplation, and praise.
From the exultant singing of Afro-American spiritual inspiration to the solemnity of the European liturgical tradition, passing through moments of instrumental recollection and profound spiritual introspection, the concert explores different musical languages in dialogue with the sacred space. The Easter and Marian repertoire, enriched by references to the sacramental dimension, culminates in a luminous affirmation of the victory of life over death. Performed by Ensembl’Ando, with the participation of guest soloists and instrumentalists, Sounds of Light aims to provide an integrated aesthetic and spiritual experience, where music, liturgical time, and space unite in a true sonic stained-glass window of Easter light.
