BallArte Ensemble
La Balena
La Balena is a multidisciplinary and multifaceted show: based on a short story written by one of the group's members, the idea is to stage a story using music, performance, scenic installations and audiovisual elements. Inspired by the profile of the mountain of Montserrat, the plot of this legend is simple: one day, the people of a valley wake up and discover a whale lying on top of a mountain. This apparition generates various reactions that build up to a poetic epilogue reminiscent of magical realism. The aim of this project is to recreate and convey the dreamlike atmosphere of the tale in a way that is sometimes direct and sometimes allusive, rediscovering the almost ‘mystical’ function of the Troubadours as a musical ensemble.
