In July, Orquestra XXI visits Cistermúsica - Alcobaça Music Festival, for a programme dedicated to Béla Bartók's celebrated Concerto for Orchestra. Marked by a virtuosic and concertante writing, following the composer's move to the United States of America, it quickly became one of the great classics of the contemporary repertoire for orchestra. Directed by Dinis Sousa, this programme will also include Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Valeriy Sokolov, as well as José Vianna da Motta's D. Inês de Castro Overture.
