In July, Orquestra XXI will participate in the Cistermúsica - Festival de Música de Alcobaça, with a programme built around the music of Richard Wagner and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The group will take to the stage two essential scores in the work of these authors. They are Siegfried Idyll, a symphonic poem for chamber orchestra dedicated to Cosima Wagner, and the last of Mozart's symphonies - the so-called Jupiter, which would become one of the great milestones in the history of Western classical music. Opening the concert, in the year which marks 50 years since the death of Igor Stravinsky, the Orquestra XXI will revisit the legacy of the Russian composer, performing his Concerto in D.
