Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa
Symphonic Concert
Christian Lindberg is a major reference in today's music. His virtuosity as a trombonist and irreverence as a composer and arranger set the tone for this concert. By bringing together Lindberg with the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, we will journey from the German Romanticism of the first half of the 19th century to the present day, including a very special arrangement of Pictures from an Exhibition. Orchestrated by various composers, particularly Ravel, the Paintings are given new life through the eyes of Lindberg. Russian Romantic painting serves as the motif for this innovative reading. His Golden Eagle concertino is a catalogue of the expressive possibilities of the trombone in the 21st century, highlighting the role of the soloist in a spectacular work of great impact at a very special moment.
