The Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa, conducted by its Artistic Director and Titular Conductor, Osvaldo Ferreira, presents itself at Cistermúsica - Alcobaça Music Festival, for a concert celebrating the centenary of the writer Guerra Junqueiro, with the beautiful setting of the Alcobaça Monastery's Fence as scenery.
The concert will open with a musical reflection reading by Luís de Feitas Branco on a work by Guerra Junqueiro, followed by the increasingly famous concerto for piano and orchestra by composer Clara Schumann. This highly virtuosic concerto has the particularity that its Romanze is a duet between the piano and solo cello. The soloist will be the young and talented Inês Andrade. To conclude the concert, we will have the great fourth symphony of Brahms, considered one of the greatest orchestral works since Beethoven.
