John Pizzarelli sings Nat King Cole
For Centennial Reasons
John Pizzarelli returns to Portugal to present For Centennial Reasons, his third tribute to the legendary musician Nat King Cole, whose timeless songs reached the top of the pop charts ("pop" at the time was often synonymous with "jazz"), more than a hundred times in his lifetime, remaining among the most recognizable songs in the Great American Songbook.
Now comes this tribute to Cole, with a refined selection of classic themes from the pop/jazz icon, who is extremely important in John's life and development as an artist. Although other jazz greats have influenced Pizzarelli, Nat King Cole was, is and will always be his hero and foundation for the last 25 years, being crucial to his formation as a musician and composer.
Some of Nat King Cole's most famous songs reinvented by John Pizzarelli, to see and hear.
