Grupo de Música Contemporânea de Lisboa
Music in the Feminine
Instrumental Ensemble
This programme offers a journey through female composition in Portugal through different generations of composers: the pioneers Constança Capdeville, within her experimental world, and Clotilde Rosa, with the poetic lyricism that characterises her work; Patrícia Almeida who incorporates rhythmic virtuosity into a multidisciplinary thinking, where the image is integrated into the musical construction; and finally, the generation that has most recently asserted itself on the national and international scene, Ana Seara and Anne Victorino d'Almeida, in their full exploitation of the resources that the GMCL instrumentalists put at their disposal.
