Capella Sanctæ Crucis
Ancient Music Group
The Capella Sanctæ Crucis presents the modern premiere of a precious Requiem for 4 voices from the first half of the 16th century, conserved in the Library of the University of Coimbra, with other Coimbra works for the office of the dead. The timeless desire and praise for the splendour of perpetual light, which dries the tears of pain and dulls the sorrow of loss, stand out. The gravity of the theme, associated with the rich sonority of the voices and the various instruments, plunges the listener into a deep state of contemplation. Between life and death, between the instant and eternity.
